#74: Corned-beef sandwich with Gruyère at The Sentinel

Just got back from The Sentinel with a corned-beef sandwich with gruyere in hand. SO GOOD!

This is a winner, people. The sandwich is served on somewhat of a soft flatbread (almost focaccia-like) with cabbage and russian dressing. It is so good, you guys. The corned-beef was perfect and the russian dressing made it a little bit sweet and a lotta bit tasty. The sandwich comes with half a pickle that has been pickled in a doctored-up pickle juice. There was some sort of spice in there (maybe mustard seed?) that I couldn't pinpoint ... but damnit ... it was good.

$8.75 and worth every penny.
Bec got the egg salad sandwich and we went halfsies. I honestly think the egg salad sandwich was good enough to be on the 7x7 list as well. The egg salad was awesome -- not super mayonnaise-y (although in my world that's not a bad thing). Big chunks of egg, some italian parsley and some sort of chile or pepper (it was red) that gave it a perfect kick. Bec ordered it on white, which I think is the way to go here. The white bread is a bun seeded with poppy seeds and sunflower seeds. Very, very good. The egg salad sandwich was $8.25.
